Stain Resistant Finish Testing

Performance and Indoor Outdoor upholstery fabrics have been treated individually with a C0 (Carbon Zero) coating to protect against the spills and stains of everyday life and/or withstand the changing seasons in outdoor environments. Each type of fabric, whether printed or woven, carries its own coating to assist in its performance. Spot clean immediately to remove all stains using warm water and a microfibre cloth.

Highly Fade Resistant

While manufacturers strive to create durable and long-lasting products, it is essential to understand that fading may be unavoidable due to various factors beyond their control.

Sunlight Exposure

Our Indoor Outdoor fabrics are designed to withstand exposure to sunlight; however, extended and direct exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause fading. The intensity and duration of sunlight can vary depending on your geographic location, time of year, and specific environmental conditions. Please note that even the highest quality outdoor fabrics may experience some degree of fading when exposed to intense sunlight.

Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance and care can help minimise the effects of fading. Regular cleaning, using appropriate cleaning products, and following our care instructions can help preserve the appearance and prolong the lifespan of outdoor fabrics. However, despite diligent care, some fading may still occur.

Environmental Factors

Environmental factors, such as pollution, saltwater exposure, chemicals, atmospheric conditions, and even airborne particles, can contribute to the fading of outdoor fabrics. While we endeavour to create fabrics that are resistant to these elements, we cannot guarantee complete protection against their effects. By purchasing or using outdoor fabrics, you acknowledge that fading may occur and that the extent and rate are beyond the manufacturer’s control. Considering these factors and making an informed decision based on your specific needs and expectations is essential. To prevent fabric from fading in the sun, ensure you take the time each day to rotate. You want to rotate all your cushions to expose both sides to the sun.

C0 (Carbon Zero) Finished

Fluorocarbons are fluorinated organic molecules widely used to give fabrics both water and oil resistance (PFAS has become the accepted umbrella term for these groups of chemicals). The environment is heavily polluted with these toxins, and worldwide research shows that they contribute to many chronic diseases. Our PFA/Carbon Zero finish gives our fabrics a water—and stain-resistant finish without impacting the environment in the same way that traditional fluorocarbon-based water-resistant finishes do.

C0 (Carbon Zero) is considered the most environmentally friendly option, as it avoids PFCs altogether. C0 treatments are designed to be biodegradable and non-toxic. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure that all products produced comply with all relevant regulations on chemical usage, in line with our Live Beautiful sustainability framework.
